The Gujranwala Electric Supply Company’s continued crackdown on power thieves and Regional taskforce and surveillance teams caught 535 pilferers during the month of July. The company issued detection electricity bills worth Rs40 million to the pilferers and also submitted applications to the police for registration of cases against the thieves.
On the directives of GEPCO CEO Mohsin Raza Khan, the taskforce and surveillance teams intensified action against electricity theft and caught a total of 535 including 106 thieves from city circle; 138 thieves from Cantt Circle; 96 pilferers from Gujrat Circle; 127 from Sialkot circle and 68 from Narowal circle. The company issued detection bill of 2.4m units, worth Rs47m to the power thieves. The GEPCO CEO lauded performance of taskforce and surveillance teams despite amid severe heat and coronavirus threat.
