Free judiciary helps nations to rise: Elahi

Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday said that the landmark judgements of free judiciary have always raised the stature of Pakistan in the comity of nations.”
“Only independent institutions provide a guarantee to democracy.”

Punjab Assembly Speaker Ch Pervaiz Elahi was talking to prominent political personality from Okara, Syed Gulzar Hasnain who along with his son called on him.

Senator Kamil Ali Agha was also present in the meeting wherein Syed Gulzar Hasnain announced joining the Pakistan Muslim League-Q.

On the occasion, Ch Pervaiz said that the landmark judgements of free judiciary had always raised the stature of Pakistan in the comity of nations. He stressed that only independent institutions provide a guarantee to democracy, he added.

He held that a free judiciary always helps state to rise when it decides cases on merit. He was of the view that with the availability of cheap and on-time justice, crimes could be eradicated from the society.

He maintained that economic prosperity was necessary for peace, security and development of a society. Our politics is based on providing all basic facilities to common and poor man, he added.

He said during the PML-Q regime, they started Rescue 1122 service for medical emergencies. They also gave free books and stipends to students, he touted.
