Free flour has been distributed among more than ninety thousand registered families on merit, transparently and in peaceful atmosphere in the district so far while 15 flour distribution points and 50 counters have been established for this purpose in the district. This was stated by the Deputy Commissioner Umer Farooq warraich in a handout issued here on Sunday.
DC visited different flour distribution points including district council, sports gymnasium and Chak Chatha and witnessed process of flour giving to deserving people. He said that officers of district administration were monitoring flour distribution so that provision of free flour to all registered families could be ensured while special counters were also established to provide information regarding registered or unregistered families at all points.
Meanwhile, Special Price Magistrates have expedite their activities to ensure availability of edibles to people on cheaper rate and in abundance during the Holy Month of Ramazan-ul-Mubarak. In this connection, special price magistrates arrested 43 shopkeepers involved in selling edibles items on arbitrary prices while seven lakh.
