Former Sindh Home Minister acquitted in rioting case

An Anti Terrorism Court in Karachi acquitted former Sindh Home Minister, Dr Zulifiqar Mirza in a police station attack case after six years while 54 others named in the same case were also justified by the ATC Karachi and acquitted too.

The case was registered against Dr. Zulifiqar Mirza and 54 others including senior journalist Murtaza Memon, Nadeem Mughal, Advocate Muhammad Essa Mallah,Abdullah Mallah, Dr Mir Abdullah Talpur, Mukhtiar Pitafi and others in May 2015 after viral videos showed Mirza storming into the Model police station Badin while his supporters were accused of shutting down the markets during protest.

On the other hand, while talking with media personnel Dr Zulifiqar Mirza said he was trapped in fake case for the last six years.

Mr Mirza said he was thankful to the people of Badin for their support.—APP
