PKLI’s Urology department organized an intensive two-day First Robotic Master Class in collaboration with the Pakistan Society of Robotic Surgeons, the Pakistan Association of Urological Surgeons, and On-tech Corporation on December 30-31, 2022.
The lectures were given by top-notch Laparoscopic & Robotic Surgeons from Pakistan, UK, USA, and India. The surgeons, physicians, residents, and fellow doctors participated in the master class in a variety of specialties including, Liver Surgery, Urology, General Surgery, Gastroenterology & Hepatology, Hepatobiliary, and Gynecology.
The event was inaugurated by Prof Faisal Saud Dar – Dean PKLI&RC, while Prof. Abdul Majeed Chaudary, Chairperson Board of Governors PKLI was invited as the honorable Chief Guest. On the other hand, Dr. Mehmood Ayaz – Vice Chancellor, King Edward Medical University and Dr. Nadeem Bin Nusrat – Chairman Urology department PKLI along with his team provided in-depth didactic sessions on the advanced robotic technologies, International robotic surgical applications, surgical outcomes, possible complications and management of these life-saving procedures in a non-invasive way in the mentioned fields. In addition, a 10-minute hands-on Robotic skill enhancement session was also given to the participants under the supervision of world-class healthcare practitioners.
The underlying aim of the master class was to bring all clinicians and doctors together under one roof by creating a platform where they can augment skills by exploring new ventures with the utilization of advanced equipment in medicine. PKLI Urologists Dr. Shuja Muhammad and Dr. Asad-ur-Rehman served the event as course organizers. In today’s era, Robotic surgery allows surgeons to perform many types of complex procedures with more precision, accuracy and flexibility.
