PM Adviser on Parliamentary Affairs Dr Babar Awan has appreciated the role of Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi hoping that federal and Punjab budgets will be passed easily in the presence of strong allies.

Speaker Punjab Assembly Pervaiz Elahi made a telephonic contact with Dr Babar Awan on Thursday. Dr Awan said that Ch Pervaiz was a reliable ally of the government.

He hoped that in the Centre and Punjab there would be no hindrance in the passage of budgets.
Ch Pervaiz apprised Dr Awan of the unanimous resolution of the Punjab Assembly.

Earlier, Dr Awan called on Prime Minister Imran Khan. They exchanged views on constitutional, political and legal affairs. They also held discussions on budget session and electronic voting.

Dr Awan made the premier acquainted with the progress on electronic voting. He was of the view that electronic voting was a transparent way of election.

He said that nation was watching eagerly at the e-voting process being discussed in both the lower and upper houses.

Dr Awan maintained that for the very first time, the government was trying to stop rigging in the election.

He held that e-voting was the future of Pakistan electoral process and legislation in this regard was a must.

He said legislation to give the voting right to the overseas Pakistanis was in the final stage and all the stakeholders were being taken into confidence on this matter.

He told the premier that the promises of transparent election and granting voting right to overseas Pakistanis would be fulfilled in any case.

Opposition’s tactics can’t stop us from implementing the party’s manifesto, Dr Awan added.
