In Karachi’s Korangi Coast Guard Chowrangi area, a father was fatally shot and his son injured during a robbery attempt. The robbers entered a gas filling shop, encountering resistance from Zafar and his son Wahab. Amidst the confrontation, Zafar lost his life, while Wahab sustained injuries.
Wahab, despite being wounded, managed to wrestle a pistol from one of the robbers and fired back, prompting the assailants to flee the scene.
The injured robbers sought treatment at Jinnah Hospital, where Wahab positively identified them as Qadir and Ehtisham. This identification led to their subsequent arrest by the police.
Recounting the ordeal, Wahab revealed that their shop had been targeted by robbers’ multiple times previously. Recognizing the perpetrators during this incident, he bravely defended himself and his father, albeit sustaining gunshot wounds in the process.
The incident underscores the persistent threat of crime faced by residents of Karachi and highlights the courage displayed by Wahab in standing up to the robbers. Wahab, grieving the loss of his father, is now advocating for justice, emphasizing the need for improved security measures to protect citizens from such tragic events.
