RAWALPINDI – Social media remained abuzz on Friday with reports suggesting the appointment of Lieutenant General Shahid Imtiaz as the new Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence.
Journalist Murtaza Ali Shah, and several other journalists quoting sources familiar with the alleged claim, commented on the development.
The development was however denied by armed forces high-ups including a former spokesperson of the Army’s media wing affair, who called it baseless.

As the unverified reports create a lot of buzz on social media, the Army’s media wing ISPR, or Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) have not shared any official update about the key appointment.
Shahid Imtiaz, who was appointed as Commander 10 Corps, was among 12 officers who were promoted to Lieutenant General in October last year.
