KARACHI – The Sindh Building Control Authority (SBCA) has sealed the dental clinic of former President Dr. Arif Alvi in Karachi over violation of building rules.

The SBCA carried out the action on Thursday at House No. 23-B in Block B of the Sindhi Muslim Cooperative Housing Society, sealing the dental clinic, which was established in a residential bungalow.

A heavy police deployment was made when the action was taken against the leader of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf.

SBCA spokesperson stated that the clinic was sealed due to being located in a residential area, describing it as a routine action. He said that similar operations are being conducted throughout the city.

In response to the action, former President Arif Alvi’s wife, Samina Alvi, and son, Owaab Alvi, have filed a petition in the Sindh High Court (SHC).

The petitioner argued that the SBCA took the action out of political revenge, alleging that Dr. Arif Alvi is being harassed on political grounds. It also states that the dental clinic has been operational for a long time, and no notice was given prior to its sealing.

The Sindh High Court has accepted the petition against the sealing of the dental clinic.
