Special Assistant to Punjab Chief Minister on Information Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan on Sunday said that the opposition has misled the masses about NA-75 by-election and made the election controversial.

“It is the responsibility of the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure a transparent election.”

Addressing a press conference on Sunday, the special assistant to CM said that Imran Khan has exposed the corruption of political leaders who looted the national exchequer mercilessly.

The former political leaders who ruthlessly consumed public resources are now together with conflicting political views to avoid the process of accountability.

She said the 11-party gang of mafias and drug peddlers is standing against the Prime Minister but Imran Khan is determined to fight the menace of corruption adding that Imran Khan has also put an end to dynastic politics.

The Special Assistant said that one has to face obstacles in the way of truth and righteousness and Imran Khan has won the hearts of the people with his honesty, perseverance, patience and long struggle.

She said the PML-N never made the election controversial in Wazirabad which is a few kilometers away from Daska because it won the election there.

The wail of the opposition is due to the fact that it is unaware of its duties while the fake princess has taken the form of ‘Phoolan Devi’, she said.

Dr Firdous said that no one took notice of the presence of a large number of PML-N parliamentarians in Daska.

The election was transparent till the results of 337 polling stations of NA-75 were announced whereas the results had been delayed in the past as well.

She said the election was made controversial through baseless propaganda and PML-N used a section of media for this purpose.

It is our constitutional right to challenge the decision of the ECP and seek an explanation of ECP rules.

What would be the fate of local body election if the ECP will make its rules hostage to the whims of some candidates, Dr Firdous questioned. She said that PML-N leadership should also look for black sheep in its party.

The SACM said that the promotion of tourism is important to increase Pakistan’s foreign exchange reserves, adding that the government is working hard to promote tourism.

She said the government is taking steps to promote the export processing zone and cottage industry.

Dr Firdous said that Chief Minister Usman Bazdar is going to announce a development package for each district.

She said the cabinet has approved the Sialkot Ring Road project whereas the purpose to establish Sialkot Development Authority is to give new impetus to the city through planning, adding that plans will be made through a public-private partnership.

Moreover, Mother and Child Hospital is going to be set up in Sialkot soon.

The SACM regretted that the thieves of the nation have become pious pilgrims.

Hamza Shehbaz has been released on bail whereas the case is still in process and he has not been given any clean chit.

She said the Sharif family will split into two groups of Maryam and Hamza as tensions have been started between both the scions.

Dr Firdous said the government will continue working for the betterment of the people.

Prices of petroleum products are rising due to a decrease in production because of the corona.
