All drains should be cleaned before rains and all machinery including genting, section, rodding, sewer cleaning machines, dewatering pumps should be kept ready at all times. Vice Chairman Water Board on the orders of Sindh Local Government Minister and Chairman Water Board Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and Vice Chairman Water Board Syed Najmi Alam, the Water Board declared emergency in view of monsoon rains in the city and issued orders to the officers that before rains, genting, section, All machinery including rodding, sewer cleaning machines and watering pumps should be kept ready at all times and all drains should be cleaned before rain.
Vice Chairman Water Board Syed Najmi Alam chaired a high level meeting on Rain Emergency at Chairman Secretariat Karsaz. Speaking on the occasion, Vice Chairman Water Board said that all drainage arrangements were completed before the first drop of rain He directed all the Chief Engineers to monitor the performance of their respective Superintendents and Executive Engineers so that no negligence would be tolerated in this process. He further said that effective measures should be taken to keep all the pumping stations of supply and drainage running with the help of generators in case of non-supply of electricity.
The Vice Chairman Water Board while issuing orders to all the executive engineers said that all the drains falling under the category of KMC should be identified and informed. On this occasion, Vice Chairman Water Board nominated Chief Engineer Sewerage Aftab Alam Chandio as Focal Person and directed all the officers to extend full cooperation to Focal Person Water Board and all his suggestions to Chief Engineer Sewerage and To be given to MDTS, Vice Chairman Water Board issued orders to cancel the leave of all officers and employees on the occasion of monsoon rains.
He further said that following the instructions of Sindh Local Government Minister and Chairman Water Board Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, the Water Board is working day and night to provide better facilities to the citizens. Engineers, Staff Officer to Vice Chairman, Personal Secretary to Vice Chairman and other officers were present.
