CALIFORNIA – Elon Musk, the owner of Tesla, SpaceX, and X which is previously known as Twitter, temporarily changed his name.
Elon Musk’s step caused a stir in the cryptocurrency world.
Taking to X, Elon Musk changed his name to “Kekius Maximum which sparked speculations.
“Kekius” is possibly derived from “kek,” which means “laughing out loud” and gained popularity in online gaming culture. However, it has also been associated with far-right ideologies.
“Kek” is the name of an ancient Egyptian deity considered the god of darkness, often depicted with the head of a frog.
Elon Musk also changed his profile picture on X to an image of the popular comic character “Pepe the Frog,” a meme character widely used by far-right groups.
The tech mogul, who is known for his close ties with former US President Donald Trump, did not provide any explanation for his new name or profile picture on X.
This is not the first time Elon Musk’s activity on X has significantly influenced cryptocurrency prices.
