Adam Khan Wazir Wana
Election fervor has intensified in Wana as Maulana Mehmood Alam Wazir, an independent candidate contesting from South Waziristan Lower and Upper Constituency NA-42, addressed a gathering during the inauguration ceremony of his election office on Friday.
In his impassioned speech, Maulana Mehmood Alam Wazir expressed his commitment to politics that prioritizes the welfare of the nation over personal gains. He emphasized, “We do not do politics to take a percentage and commission; we do politics for the interpretation of the nation and their rights in the true sense.”
The inauguration ceremony witnessed significant support from tribal elders and Ullams, including those from Wazir, SulemanKhel, and Dottani communities, who announced their endorsement of Maulana Mehmood Alam.
Prominent figures like Chief Malik Allauddin, Maulana Sakhi, Maulana Shamsur Rehman, Malik Ashiq, and Malik Gulab also addressed the event, expressing their support for the independent candidate.
Maulana Mehmood Alam Wazir, while addressing the audience, highlighted the historical disillusionment with previous representatives, stating, “In earlier periods, MNAs and MPAs deceived tribal elders and youth with various enthusiastic slogans. This time, the nation has come to consciousness, and they will reject such leaders.”
He underscored his commitment to addressing tribal issues, stating, “If I win, Wazir, SulemanKhel, and Dottani will deal with most of the tribal issues, and solving these problems is among the top priorities.”
Maulana Mehmood Alam pledged to bring about transformative change in the region, focusing on education, healthcare, and infrastructure development. He promised to revive non-functional government educational institutions, establish a university campus to provide quality education, and resolve land disputes in Lower and Upper Waziristan.
Acknowledging the struggles of the people, he committed to establishing a medical college, making non-functional health centers operational, and initiating collective projects and mega projects in Lower Waziristan.
Highlighting the agricultural challenges in Wana, Maulana Mehmood Alam proposed the construction of check dams and small dams to restore the falling water table.
In conclusion, he addressed the administrative challenges, stating, “The former government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa divided South Waziristan into two districts, causing severe difficulties. If elected with a significant majority, all efforts will be made to solve these problems.”
