Educational reforms to elevate govt schools standard: Minister

Punjab’s Education Minister, RanaSikandar Hayat, has articulated his ambitious plans to revolutionize the province’s educational landscape. The minister has pledged to introduce sweeping reforms aimed at propelling government schools to the same caliber as prestigious private institutions.

The announcement came during a high-level consultation meeting convened on Friday at the University of Education, presided over by Minister RanaSikandar Hayat. Accompanying him were esteemed personalities including Vice Chancellor Dr. AlamSaeed, Dr. Talat Pasha, and several other renowned academicians.

The meeting served as a platform to deliberate upon critical issues pertaining to school education reforms. Discussions centered on modernizing the education system, with a particular focus on enhancing monitoring mechanisms for government schools, establishing an advisory council, expanding nutrition programs, and implementing a transparent machine marking system for examination assessments. Additionally, the need to revamp the curriculum to align with contemporary requirements was emphasized.

A significant aspect of the deliberations revolved around strategies to promote student engagement in co-curricular activities and address the challenge of out-of-school children. Expert opinions were sought from luminaries such as Dr. AlamSaeed and Dr. Talat Pasha, who provided valuable insights into the reforms needed to uplift government schools.

Expressing his unwavering commitment to this transformative agenda, Education Minister RanaSikandar Hayat underscored the imperative of implementing an “educational emergency” across Punjab. He outlined his vision to establish a world-class education system in the province, guided by the expertise of education stalwarts. Furthermore, Minister Hayat reiterated his resolve to realize the vision set forth by the Chief Minister of Punjab, aiming to position the province as a beacon of educational excellence. Notable figures such as Director Punjab Textbook Board ArtzaNaqvi, AmnaShaikh, Prof. Dr. Intizar Butt, and Prof. Dr. ShahzadQaiser were also present at the event.
