ISLAMABAD –  Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Wednesday decided to file a review petition against the Supreme Court’s decision regarding reserved seats.

The sources familiar with the development said that the Election Commission would file the review petition in the Supreme Court against its  decision about reserved seats.

Prior to the Election Commission, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz(PML-N) had also filed a review petition against the decision to allocate reserved seats to the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).

Some members elected on reserved seats also filed review petitions against the decision.

It may be mentioned here that a 13-member bench of the Supreme Court, while deciding on a petition regarding the reserved seats of the Sunni Ittehad Council, nullified the decisions of the Election Commission and the Peshawar High Court, and ordered that the reserved seats for women and minorities be allocated to PTI.
