Rescue 1122 will remain on high alert in the holy month Ramazan to ensure timely provision of emergency services in case of any emergency especially Covid-19.
Punjab Emergency Service Director General Dr Rizwan Naseer has directed all the district emergency officers to implement emergency plans for Ramazan in true letter and spirit.
He shared these views while addressing a meeting held at Rescue Headquarters. In order to ensure coordinated emergency response in case of any untoward incident, emergency officer on duty will maintain extra vigilance, especially during Iftar.
Dr Rizwan Naseer said that availability of senior officers in the Command and Control Room in the districts before Iftar would encourage rescuers to deal with the routine as well as Covid-19 emergencies in a more professional manner. He said although during lockdown situation, the road crashes accidents have reduced but rescue service needs to ensure timely emergency services to all emergency calls.
In order to monitor emergency response during Ramazan, the provincial monitoring cell established at Rescue Headquarters will ensure round-the-clock monitoring of all district control rooms through IP-based cameras especially during Iftar & Sehri times.
Earlier special directions have been issued to all district emergency officers to review daily data of emergencies and ensure the timely emergency response to all emergencies with more proactive approach,
The DG emphasised that Ramazan gives us the lesson of tolerance and harmony. He requested the citizens to observe patience and tolerance & not to lose temper, especially during commuting just before Iftari. He requested the public to avoid unnecessary travel and observe all necessary precautions/instructions.
