Defence Day events held at Canberra, US and Beijing

A magnificent event in connection with the ‘Defence Day of Pakistan ‘was held on Friday at the Pakistan High Commission, Canberra. It was attended by a large number of Australian armed forces personnel, diplomats, Defence Attaches, government officials and Pakistani community members. The Day was celebrated in solidarity with the people of Kashmir, says a message received here.
Welcoming the guests, the High Commissioner Babar Amin stated that Pakistan-Australia bilateral relations were mutually beneficial and were based on the common desire for promoting regional and global peace, security and prosperity. He mentioned that Pakistan and Australia enjoyed strong cooperation in defence and security domains as well.
The HC urged the international community to take effective measures to avert the humanitarian crisis in the Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and to speak up for their human rights.
Washington: An esteemed ceremony on Defence and Martyrs Day was held at Pakistan’s Embassy in Washington to commemorate the 54th anniversary of the 1965 war. US deputy assistant secretary of defense addressed the ceremony and acknowledged Pakistan Army’s success against terrorism. Pakistani Ambassador to the United States Asad Majeed declared that Pakistan is fully capable to defend its freedom and autonomy, and affirmed that the nation will not hesitate from rendering any sacrifice to protect the motherland.The ceremony was attended by military attaches of different countries.
