A decision on the proposed reopening of Educational institutions across the country, which was closed due to corona virus, will be taken ON Monday (tomorrow). According to the details, the federal government has proposed to open educational institutions across the country in three phases and this time it has been decided to open primary schools across the country in the first phase. Any decision on the proposal will be taken at the Inter-Provincial Education Ministers’ Conference on Monday, January 4, which will be chaired by Federal Minister for Education Shafqat Mahmood and attended by education ministers from all four provinces.
According to the agenda of the conference, the decision to reopen educational institutions in all four provinces of the country was put forward on the basis of health advisory. In this regard, it has been suggested to the conference that in the first phase, public and private primary schools across the country should be opened from January 25, 2021, while in the second phase, middle / secondary schools should be opened from February 4 and in the third phase, higher middle / secondary. And similar educational institutions should be opened.
According to the agenda for the meeting to be held on January 4, examinations at the level of schools and boards across the country are proposed to start from the end of May or early June, while the academic course work should be completed before then. Similarly, the duration of summer vacations will be reduced and the new academic year will start from August 2021.
It is to be noted that after being open for almost two and a half months, the educational institutions across the country were closed again from November 26, 2020 and after keeping them closed till January 10, it was announced to reopen from January 11.
