An unbroken century partnership between captain Joshua Da Silva and Kevin Sinclair has kept West Indies A Team in a dominate position over their hosts. Da Silva ended the second day on 73 not out and with him allrounder Sinclair on 47 not out as West Indies A reached 417-6 – on another day interrupted by rain in Sylet, Bangladesh.
Da Silva has so far faced 116 balls and hit five boundaries and a six, while Sinclair kept the scoreboard ticking with six boundaries off 70 balls. West Indies resumed on 220-2 and added 197 runs for the lost of four wickets. The pair came together at 317-6 in the 100th over when Yannic Cariah fell for 14.
Earlier in the day opener Tagenarine Chanderpaul made 83 and fellow left-hander Alick Athanaze scored 85. The pair took the score from 160-2 to 281-3. Chanderpaul again showed great defiance and kept the Bangladesh bowlers at bay as he and faced 236 balls and hit seven fours. Athanaze played a number of attractive shots on both side of the wicket as he faced 98 balls and counted 12 fours and three sixes.—INP
