DG LDA Aamir Ahmad Khan appeared in the court of Justice Lahore High Court Shahid Karim for the hearing of the case regarding Lahore Master Plan. The court said in his remarks that the drafting of Lahore Master Plan is a comprehensive and technical process, it would be better to review it to further refine the master planning proposals. The court remarked that further guidance from an international or local consultant for the review of the master plan should also be taken, the court wants an independent consultant to review it from all the aspects. Court remarked that the unplanned and environment damaging industries should be shifted out of the city on emergency basis and such industries should be shifted out of the city in two or three years in next phase.
Justice Shahid Kareem while giving remarks said that I myself have visited the outskirts of Lahore, it feels very painful that Greenery is getting badly damaged in the city and illegal housing societies are spreading rapidly. Strict action should be taken against illegal housing societies. The court has fixed the first week of March for further hearing of the case.
Justice Shahid Karim remarked that the court is satisfied with the measures taken by the LDA. DG LDA Aamir Ahmad Khan have taken good steps in this regard, other departments are also included in the master plan. Justice Shahid Karim said in his remarks that this is the common problem of all of us. Earlier i used to say that it is the problem of our future generations, now It is clear that the environmental pollution is a burning problem of our generation as well.
Senior lawyers Barrister Haris Azmat, Sahibzada Muzaffar Ali, Waseem Arif Bhader, Rafey Alam Member of Lahore Bachao Tehreek and Chief Metropolitan Planner Nadeem Akhtar Zaidi, Director Master Planning Faisal Masood Qureshi, Director Law Abdul Razaq, Deputy Director Law Muhammad Shoaib also appeared in the court.
