Court orders authorities to stop dumping garbage at Salhad

Abbottabad Bench of Peshawar High Court stopped Cantt Board and WASSA from dumping garbage and filth in Salhad Dumping Ground and ordered to shift the waste bin to an alternative place and submit a report within 14 days.

The order to appear in personal capacity, according to the details the writ petition in Peshawar High Court regarding Salhad Dumping Ground filed by the citizen to WASSA, Cantt Board and TMA where it was prayed and ordered by the Abbottabad bench in 2020 for the removal of garbage dump from Salhad to another place .

In this context, the Chief Executive of WASA, Cantt Board Officer and TMO Abbottabad appeared before the double bench of Peshawar High Court Abbottabad Bench comprising Justice Kamran Hayat and Justice Muhammad Ijaz Khan.

Kamran issued strict orders to the officials of the relevant departments to quickly remove the pile of garbage lying on the roadside and remarked that if you people feel the suffering of the citizens, wouldn’t it be better if you people take a few days Orders should be issued to stay in tents in this place and run office activities from the dumping side.
