The Lahore High Court declared the demolition of four walls by the Lahore Development Authority in Johar Town null and void.
The court issued its 17-page verdict in the petition filed by Khalid Javed. The petitioner said the authority illegally added a road to the map of the said land in 1986. He said he wrote a letter to the LDA in 1992 on the matter but it did nothing.
In June 2019, an LDA team demolition the construction on his plot without any notice, he said.
The court said that the step taken by the authority was against the signed agreement.
Meanwhile, troubles for former DG LDA Ahad Cheema has increased as NAB has sought permission from accountability court to investigate him for construction of a drain from Ferozepur Road to Multan Road.
NAB requested the accountability court judge Amjad Nazir Chaudhry to allow it to interrogate former DG LDA Ahad Cheema in sewage construction case.
The NAB told the court that Ahad Cheema was in jail to be interrogated. He was DG LDA at the time.
The court allowed the NAB to probe the former LDA DG. It is to be noted that the NAB has already arrested LDA chief engineer Israr Saeed in the case.
