Two murder accused were awarded capital punishments in two different murder cases by the respective courts in district Attock on Thursday. In the first case, a local court in Hassanabdal town of Attock on Thursday convicted a man for killing a man over land dispute in village Bhallar Jogi some two years ago.
Additional sessions Judge Hassanabdal Attique Ur Rehman sentenced Aziz Masood to death for killing Niaz Baig to death in July 2020. According to the first investigation report registered under section 302 and 544-A of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the convict shot dead the man when they exchanged hot words over possession of land and later fled away; however, police traced him and sent him behind bars.
During proceedings, the prosecution had contended that substantial evidence was available on record which established involvement of all three nominated accused including prime suspect, subsequently the judge sentenced Mr Aziz to death. Separately, a local court in Pindigheb town of Attock sentenced a man to death for murdering a man over land dispute in limits of Pindigheb police station.
The additional session judge Irfan Ahmed Sheikh also imposed a fine of Rs0.5 million on the accused Abdul Wahid. According to the FIR registered under section 302 of Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the accused shot and Killed Muhammad Saleem over land dispute. The prosecution produced substantial evidence against the accused which established involvement of Mr Wahid in the cold blood murder of Mr Saleem.
