Zurich – A couple having intimate moments onboard Swiss Air was captured by security cameras and the act got leaked, prompting authorities to start a probe over privacy breach.
Swiss Air, the flag carrier of Switzerland, landed in hot water over a serious privacy scandal after a video featuring a couple engaging in explicit acts was allegedly filmed and shared online by crew members.
It occurred in November this year during the airline’s flight from Bangkok to Zurich, and the duo was filmed after they entered the jet’s kitchen area. Disturbingly, the video, which has since appeared on social media, was shared alongside derogatory captions that have drawn further outrage.
Amid the heat, Swiss Air reiterated disciplinary action against staffers responsible for recording the video without the passengers’ consent. Officials denounced the actions and called it a violation of guidelines and values.
The pilot and crew were supposed to report the incident rather than filming and sharing it. Amid plethora of options, Swiss Air clarified that security cameras installed are meant solely for monitoring cockpit, and not for having eye on people.
