Punjab Inspector General of Police Inam Ghani has said that Punjab Police is performing its duties as a frontline worker for the protection of life, honour and property of the common man and during Corona epidemic several officers and officials have fallen victim to the virus in line with the duty.
He further said that the ongoing process of corona vaccination should be completed in all the districts of the province as soon as possible so that the police force could continue performing its duty of service to people while remaining safe from this contagious epidemic.
The IGP said that the supervisory officers should complete the vaccination of the subordinate force under personal supervision and reports in this regard should be sent to Central Police Office regularly.
DIG Welfare Agha Muhammad Yousuf informed IGP Inam Ghani that so far 20,507 officers and personnel between the ages of 50 and 60 have been vaccinated while 26,535 officers and personnel between the ages of 40 and 50 have been vaccinated against corona.
He further said that the process of corona vaccination of officers and personnel in the age group of 30-40 years is also in full swing and so far 52966 officers and personnel in the age group of 30-40 years have been vaccinated Collectively around 10,0008 officers and officials in the age group of more than 30 years have been vaccinated against corona virus and the remaining force and staff are being vaccinated without interruption.
He further said that besides district police in all the districts, corona vaccination is also being carried out in Punjab Constabulary, Investigation Punjab, Special Branch, CTD, Traffic, SPU, PHP and other field formations.
The IGP urged all officers and personnel to ensure implementation of SOPs in all cases while on duty.
He further said that the health and life of the police officers and their families is of utmost importance to the police department as only by staying healthy can we better serve the people and fulfil our responsibility of safety.
