LAHORE –  Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)  Senior leader and former Federal Minister Mian Javed Latif  emphasized the need for the nation to be taken into confidence before imposing any ban or invoking Article 6 of the Constitution.

“The nation needs to be informed about how arrangements and efforts were made collectively to make the founder of PTI popular,” said Latif in a statement on Tuesday.

Mian Latif urged the institutions to reveal the evidence they possessed regarding conspiracies against Pakistan.

He also called for transparency concerning the evidence of foreign funding and the cipher, saying that this information should be shared with the public.

“It should also be disclosed how this individual never missed an opportunity to create chaos and incited rebellion within institutions. Additionally, the public should be informed about the release of 6,000 terrorists—under whose directive and for what purpose this was done.”

Latif stressed that both the institutions and the government should present their evidence before the nation prior to taking any action.

“Before imposing any ban or invoking Article 6, it is imperative to take the nation into confidence more than just the cabinet,” he added.
