Cold weather persists in Lahore, parts of Punjab

LAHORE – Cold and dry weather prevailed in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Thursday (Election Day) with experts predicting the similar conditions to persist during the next two days.

As per the synoptic situation, continental air prevails over most parts of Pakistan.

Under these conditions, mainly cold and dry weather is expected in Lahore and most parts of Punjab on Thursday evening, Friday and Saturday. Freezing weather is expected in Murree, Galyat and surroundings. Shallow fog will likely prevail in Sialkot, Narowal and Kasur during morning and night hours.

In Lahore, the minimum temperature will likely remain between 07-09 degrees Celsius on Friday and Saturday.

Meanwhile, cold and dry weather prevailed over most parts of the province during the last 24 hours. Freezing weather prevailed in Murree, Galyat and surroundings. Shallow fog prevailed at isolated places of northeast Punjab.

Murree remained the coldest place in the province where mercury dropped 03 C below freezing. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 68 per cent.

In Lahore, minimum temperature was recorded at 08 C. Relative humidity during the evening was recorded at 69 per cent.
