Punjab Chief Minister on Sunday ordered thatGujranwala-Motorway Link Road be opened for traffic by December 25,2023. During his visit to Gujranwala, the chief minister also had an aerialview of the work underway on the project site.
Speaking on the occasion, he said that after construction of the roadwas complete it would take less than 45 minutes to commute betweenLahore and Gujranwala.
The CM then inspected progress made on the construction of a roadlinking Gujranwala with Lahore-Sialkot motorway. (FWO) officials to speed up work on the project. He then had an aerial view of 15.2-km long stretch of the road from Benazir Chowk to Wahandu.
Later at a meeting chaired by the chief minister, FWO’s Colonel Imran briefed him about the progress made on the project so far. The chief minister also visited the head office of Agriculture, Food & Drug Authority in Lahore, went round its different floors, including the auditorium, and inspected the quality of work.
He gave the deadline of December 31 for the completion of the project. He also saw the instruments purchased for the laboratories. The CM urged the contractors to ensure that the quality of work was not compromised.
Later he presided over a meeting at the head office at which he was briefed about the purchase of machinery for the Authority. He ordered formation of a committee, to be headed by Planning and development Board chairman, so that it could take immediate steps for resolving different issues confronting the Authority.
