The citizens of Rawalpindi have demanded of the authorities concerned to remove the encroachments from Saidpur Road connecting the twin cities which result in massive traffic jam adding to miseries of the residents of surrounding areas.
Talking to media on Sunday, the citizens of Rawalpindi said that the situation is further aggravated due to non-deployment of traffic wardens and often leads to serious fights of drivers.
It may be recalled that on both sides of the road from Siddiqui Chowk to Pindora Chungi there are a lot of illegal encroachments and thuds.
The city traffic police and the Rawalpindi administration also do not carry out large scale operations against encroachments and improper parking on Pindora Saidpur Road.
Citizens said that in this regard, various encroachments on the road, stalls, wheelbarrows, hawkers, and other goods should be seized and submitted to the TMA office, while improperly parked vehicles and motorbikes should be lifted by lifting and fine be imposed.
They said that strict action is needed against wrong parking and encroachments at Saidpur Road and Pindora. They said that legal action should be taken against underage rickshaw drivers on this road. Go to the TMA office and take possession of the wheelbarrows, carts, carts and other means that obstruct the flow of traffic and cause inconvenience to pedestrians by encroaching on the road and sidewalk so that the flow of traffic should be fully restored, they maintained.
The citizens said that an operation should be carried out in Pindora Bazaar as well. There is a lot of encroachment on both sides of the bazaar due to which Saidpur Road has become very short.
Saidpur Road is the most important road connecting Rawalpindi with Islamabad where shopkeepers have erected illegal structures on the road from Siddiqui Chowk to Pindora Chungi on both sides of the road from 15 to 20 feet due to which in Pandora Bazaar traffic jams all day.
