Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Mr Nong Rong has held a meeting with Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) Senator Sirajul Haq and discussed with him matters of bilateral interests.
The meeting held on Wednesday at the residence of JI deputy chief Mian Muhammad Aslam was also attended by Director JI Foreign Affairs Asif Luqman Qazi.
On occasion, the Chinese diplomat also extended invitation to JI chief for the visit to China and said that it will be arranged on some appropriate time. The JI and Communist Party of China had entered into MoU in 2009, according to which both parties agreed on exchange of delegations.
The JI Emir impressed upon the Chinese envoy that strong Pak-China relations were vital for the development and the stability of the region. The JI Emir had a detailed discussion with the Chinese diplomat on the situation in Afghanistan and Kashmir and the CPEC. He said that strong and unwavering stance of China on the Kashmir issue was a source of strength and satisfaction for the people of Kashmir and Pakistan and they were highly indebted to the people and the government of China in this regard. He hoped China would continue diplomatic steps to stop the brutalities of the Indian occupation forces in held Kashmir. Senator Sirajul Haq said that peace in the region and particularly in Afghanistan was vital for the success of the CPEC.
Mr Nong said that China had been following the policy of providing equal rights and facilities to all its citizens irrespective of their regional, religious and racial differences. He said China gave key importance to Jamaat-e-Islami and its leader Senator Sirajul Haq. He said China would continue legal and moral support of Pakistan at international forum.
Meanwhile, JI chief visited residence of police victim Osama Satti and demanded the government ensure justice for the families of the martyr. The tragic incident happened a few days ago in Islamabad was another example of police brutality, he said, adding the JI would not allow easy walk over to the government in this case.
Sirajul Haq said it was unfortunate that the police was victimizing the innocent people instead of taking actions against the criminals. He said the claims of the government about bringing reforms in police proved a pack of lies. He said the government failed to protect the lives and property of the people.
