KARACHI – Students and staff from China-Pakistan Government Girls Middle School Faqeer Colony embarked on an enlightening educational trip to Gwadar Port and its surrounding facilities, gaining valuable insights into the region’s infrastructure and economic development.
The visit coordinated by Naseem Baloch, aimed to offer students a closer look at the significant role Gwadar Port plays in Pakistan’s economy, particularly in relation to the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC). The group visited key locations such as the Gwadar Free Zone, Gwadar Business Centre, Desalination Plant, a greenhouse, and the Gwadar Port Terminal.
Naseem Baloch, the trip’s coordinator, emphasized that the primary goal of the visit was to broaden the students’ understanding of the practical applications of their classroom learning. “This visit allows students to see firsthand the operational side of key facilities that are crucial to the region’s growth and development. It’s a chance for them to understand how logistics, trade, and sustainability come together in real-world scenarios,” Baloch said.
Among the highlights of trip, students were able to observe the functionality of the Gwadar Port Terminal, one of the central components of CPEC. The exposure to the Gwadar Free Zone and the Desalination Plant also helped students appreciate the importance of sustainable practices and infrastructure in supporting regional growth.
This trip is part of a broader initiative led by the China Overseas Ports Holding Company, which regularly organizes such educational visits for local students. The program is designed to connect academic learning with practical experience, offering students a deeper understanding of ongoing China-Pakistan projects and fostering a sense of participation in the region’s future development.
