Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong has said that China is committed to working with Pakistan to promote high quality development of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) in a timely manner.

In a tweet on Friday, the Chinese ambassador said that China highly appreciated Prime Minister Imran Khan for his determination and leadership in steering the development of CPEC.

“China will work hard with Pakistan to promote high-quality development of the CPEC in a timely manner, for the greater benefits of the two peoples”, he added.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan, while reiterating his government’s commitment to the provisions of CPEC agreements, stressed upon adhering to timelines specified for the completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.

The prime minister underscored that continuity of policies is essential for long-term projects in order to achieve maximum benefits for the country. He said that China has been a time-tested friend of Pakistan and the government accords high priority to implementation and operationalisation of CPEC projects. —TLTP
