Chief Secretary Sindh reviews public-private partnership projects

Chief Secretary Sindh, Dr. Mohammad Sohail Rajput, presided a meeting to review the progress on public-private partnership projects in the province.The meeting was attended by the Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Public-Private Partnership Projects, Senior Member Board of Revenue Baqaullah Unar,  Commissioner Karachi Muhammad Iqbal Memon, Secretary Local Government Syed Najam Ahmed Shah, Secretary Finance Sajid Jamal Abro, Director General PPP Unit Assad Zamin, while All divisional commissioner, DIGs, Deputy Commissioners and SSPs have attended the meeting Via video link.

The meeting reviewed  various projects, including the construction of Malir Expressway, M9-N5 Link Road, Ghothki Kandhkot Bridge, Special Economic Zones (SEZs) and other significant initiatives.Speaking on the occasion the Chief Secretary Sindh said that Sindh’s Public Private Partnership Unit is far ahead of many countries as it has successfully completed various mega projects.

He urged the officers to use all their abilities for timely completion of remaining PPP projects. He said that Sindh Government believes in providing facilities to the people at their doorstep and the construction of these roads and bridges will bring prosperity to the respective areas and provide employment opportunities.

Chief Secretary Sindh took note of the issue of debris dumping in Malir River and issued a directive to the Commissioner of Karachi to lodge FIRs against the responsible individuals.It was highlighted during the meeting that unauthorized encroachments continue to surround Ghothki Kandhkot Bridge, on this the CS directed concerned Deputy Commissioners to remove the encouragement.

The Chief Secretary also directed DIG Larkana to ensure the security of personnel engaged in the construction of Ghothki Kandhkot Bridge. The Chief Secretary also instructed SMBR to resolve the land-related issues pertaining to all ongoing PPP projects.

Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, Special Assistant to the Chief Minister of Sindh for Public-Private Partnership Projects said that Public-private partnership projects are among the finest initiatives of the Sindh government, leading to notable transformations in the province.
