ISLAMABAD – Chief Justice of Pakistan Qazi Faez Isa has summoned a full court meeting today over calls for probe into allegations made by six Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges against intelligence agencies.

The meeting of the country’s top judges is expected to start shortly.

Earlier in the day, a petition was filed in the apex court requesting an open court investigation into a letter from judges to the Supreme Judicial Council, alleging interference by intelligence agencies in the judicial matters.

The petitioner urged formation of a commission to probe the matter and called for a judicial convention on the alleged executive interference in judicial affairs.

In the letter, Islamabad court judges expressed concerns about interference and intimidation by intelligence agencies, seeking action from the SJC on reporting such actions.

Those who wrote letter include Justice Mohsin Akhtar Kayani, Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri, Justice Babar Sattar, Justice Sardar Ejaz Ishaq Khan, Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir, and Justice Saman Raffat Imtiaz.

This is a developing story, more updates to follow…
