“All the legitimate pending matters of exporters in the hands of Regional Tax Office-III shall be resolved on priority basis.” This was stated by Dr. Amir Ali Khan Talpur, Chief Commissioner RTO III Karachi during the online meeting with exporters registered with Regional Tax Office III Karachi held today on the request of Pakistan Apparel Forum’s Chairman, Muhammad Jawed Bilwani.
Earlier Jawed Bilwani, Chairman, Pakistan Apparel Forum thanked the Chief Commissioner RTO-III Karachi, Dr. Amir Ali Khan Talpur for convening online meeting to address the issues and problems being faced by the member exporters. He invited the attention of Chief Commissioner RTO-III Karachi on burning issue of exporters related to Sales Tax Refund / Audit, Income Tax Refund / Audit, Zero Rated Certificate for K-Electric to apply reduced tariff of electricity at the rate of 7.5 cents per unit all inclusive, Restoration of Sales Tax Registration and other issues. Bilwani also highlighted the matter of Notices of Post Audit Refund issued to exporters who have received access refund and proposed that instead of Notices and recovery of access refunds, the access refund amount should be adjusted in future refunds or posted as advance. Bilwani informed that exporters are already facing severest ever liquidity crunch due to excessive delays in release of payments against sales tax refunds and huge amount of exporters’ liquidity of billions of rupees in Sales Tax Refund, Custom Rebate, Withholding Tax has been stuck up with the Government causing great sufferings to the already burdened exporters.
Members present in the meeting discussed their particular issues with the Chief Commissioner RTO-III which were satisfactorily answered with assurances of speedy resolution and Chief Commissioner issued onsite directives to Commissioner RTO-III Karachi Muhammad Ali who was also joined the online meeting to address particular cases of exporters fall under their domain. Wali Muhammad Shaikh, Commissioner, RTO-III Karachi also joined the meeting.
After patiently hearing, the Chief Commissioner RTO-III Karachi, Dr. Amir Ali Khan Talpur assured the exporters that all their pending cases with RTO-III will be resolved on top priority without delays and requested the Associations to send list of problems which will be examined and cleared in a day or two. Chief Commissioner also advised the exporters that they may visit the RTO-III with their cases to resolve the cases then and there.
On this occasion, Khizer Mehboob Senior Vice Chairman PHMA, Abdur Rehman Vice Chairman PHMA, Abdus Samad of PCMA, Muzzammil Hussain of TMA, Javed Akhtar and other leading textile exporters also participated in the meeting.
