Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman on Tuesday emphasized the need of character building of children along with education and training.
He was speaking after inaugurating three new programs for education and training of children at Children’s Library Complex Lahore. The event was attended by Secretary School Education, Muhammad Ahsan Waheed, Chairman Board of Governors Children Library Complex Dr Nasir Javed, Managing Director Punjab Textbook Board, Naveed Shehzad Mirza, Managing Director Children Library Complex, Ahmed Khawar Shehzad and other personalities.
Governor Punjab inaugurated Knowledge Value and Skill Based Education, Space Race Pakistan and Virtual Reality Platform.
Speaking on the occasion, Muhammad Balighur Rehman said that the future of the country and the nation hinges on good education of children. He said that the increase in the number of out of school children is alarming. He emphasized that we all have to forget our petty differences and play a role to address this issue.
The Governor Punjab said that management of Children Library Complex deserves appreciation for promoting educational and recreational activities by organizing national and international days, exhibitions and festivals.
He said that Children Library Complex was providing educational and recreational facilities to the children including differently abled children through library, museum, VR Gaming, planetarium, educational films for children, other indoor and outdoor games besides providing knowledge and skill based education.
Balighur Rehman said that he appreciates the organizers of Children’s Library Complex especially the Managing Director of Children’s Library Complex; Ahmed Khawar Shehzad for starting these projects to provide learning opportunities to the children. He added that the importance of innovation in education is indispensable to cope with the modern world. He emphasized to equip children with technology, creativity and necessary skills to cope with the fast paced world.
On this occasion, Governor Punjab Muhammad Balighur Rehman also visited various projects started in the Children’s Library Complex.
