Pneumonia claims 13 more children’s lives

As many as 13 more children fell victim to pneumonia during the last 24 hours, the sources within the Punjab health department said on Tuesday. The Punjab Health Department disclosed that a total of 304 fresh cases of pneumonia surfaced during the same period, with two fatalities recorded in Lahore alone. According to the health authorities, Punjab documented 25,073 cases of pneumonia, with Lahore accounting for 5,334 cases.

Pneumonia, often triggered by viral infections, affects the lungs and can escalate from mild to severe, typically afflicting children aged five or younger. The Symptoms of pneumonia include chest pain during breathing or coughing, confusion (particularly in adults aged 65 and above), cough with phlegm, fatigue, fever with chills, below-normal body temperature (in adults over 65 and individuals with weakened immune systems), as well as nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea, and shortness of breath.
