The top city police on Sunday ordered swift action after a drunken couple, which beat a police constable in the Defence area.
A video of the woman slapping the cop in the Cantt area went viral on social media.
The Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) took notice of the incident that occurred on Saturday night and summoned a detailed report in this regard from the Defence ASP. The case has been registered at the Defence Phase-V police station.
According to the FIR, the woman and her friend entered into a brawl with police officers when the latter tried to stop them from consuming alcohol in public. The woman got angry and slapped one of the cops.
CCPO Umar Sheikh lauded the police officers for being patient with the woman despite her attack. He assured that she will soon be brought to justice.
The incident occurred when guard of the restaurant asked the woman to stop drinking alcohol in public. Both of them got into a brawl after which police stopped by to end the uproar.
The woman goes wild and starting shouting at the police officials who asked her to discard the alcohol.
Later she started slapping the ASI and the other police constable repeatedly. People from the surroundings gathered at the spot and started filming the ongoing ruckus.
Later the suspect and her friend then sat in their car and left the spot.
