Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (Fesco) provides services in Faisalabad, Sargodha, Mianwali, Khushab, Jhang, Bhakkar, Toba Tek Singh and Chiniot districts.
FESCO jurisdiction covers approximately 45,387 sq. km area of these districts. FESCO distributes and supplies electricity to 4.87 Million consumers.
The electricity consumers of Fesco would pay higher bills for the month of July as the federal government has approved Rs5.72 per unit increase in Nepra’s base tariff, taking the new per unit price to Rs35.50.
Under the new proposed changes, both protected and non-protected consumers will have to pay additional taxes and surcharges.
If any FESCO customers consume 200-units in a month, the protected status will be changed to non-protected, significantly increasing the electricity bills.
The status of protected customers will be restored after period of six months if per month consumption drops below 200 units.

It is recalled that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has demanded the Pakistani government to increase the base tariff by July 10.
Additional fixed taxes and surcharges are applied to non-protected consumers.
