An additional district and sessions court on Tuesday extended the interim bail granted to the widow of Baloch nationalist leader Akbar Bugti.

Additional District and Sessions Judge Syed Ali Abbas also ordered the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) investigation officer (IO) to complete the inquiry in the case and submit the report on September 9, the next date of hearing.

Akbar Bugti’s widow Shehzadi Nargis is facing the allegation of uploading obscene pictures of her daughter-in-law on social media.

Meanwhile, a man allegedly attempted to throw his wife and four children into a canal in Pattoki area of Kasur on Tuesday.

The Anti-Women Harassment and Violence Cell said it timely took cognizance of the matter and rescued the victim woman and children while the culprit was arrested by the Pattoki police.

“He tried to toss us all into the canal,” the victim woman told police in her statement. Police arrested alleged criminal Abdul Hameed and booked him under different charges.
