South Waziristan/Dera Ismail Khan: Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki from the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) and three other soldiers of the Pakistan Army embraced martyrdom while fighting terrorists in two instances on Tuesday.

According to the military’s media wing, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Brigadier Mustafa Kamal Barki, while leading an encounter from the front against terrorists in the Angoor Adda area of South Waziristan, embraced martyrdom. The ISPR said that seven soldiers got injuries of which two were in critical condition.

“Brigadier Barki and his team put up a valiant resistance against the terrorists during the encounter, and the officer sacrificed his life for peace of the motherland,” the statement read.

In the other instance, terrorists opened fire on a police check post in the general area of Khutti of the Dera Ismail Khan district.

Upon receipt of the information, security forces immediately cordoned off the area, blocking all possible escape routes.

Fleeing terrorists were intercepted in the area of Saggu of Dera Ismail Khan. After an intense exchange of fire, “three terrorists were sent to hell”. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists.

However, during the intense exchange of fire, Havaldar Muhammad Azhar Iqbal (age 42 years, resident of Lodhran), Naik Muhammad Asad (age 34 years, resident of Khanewal) and Sepoy Muhammad Essa (age 22 years, resident of South Waziristan) having fought gallantly, embraced shahadat.
