Breast Cancer awareness seminar held

Breast Cancer Awareness seminar was organized by Department of Zoology, Women University in collaboration with Directorate Students Affairs at Katchery Campus. The chief guest of the seminar was Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr Kalsoom Pracha. The focal person of seminar was Dr. Asia Bibi (Chairperson, Department of Zoology).The speakers of the seminar was Dr. Rubina Mukhtar, Radiologist of Minar and Dr. Qurat ul Ain.

Addressing the seminar, Dr. Qurat ul ain said that breast cancer is the most common cancer found in women worldwide. According to the World Health Organization, breast cancer accounts for 10% of all types of cancer in the world, the highest rate of breast cancer in Asian countries.In Pakistan alone, about 90,000 new cases are diagnosed every year, of which 40,000 women died unreportedly.
