Basharat orders security audits of Sikh shrines in Punjab

A meeting on law and order was held in the Civil Secretariat, chaired by Provincial Minister for Law, Parliamentary Affairs and Social Welfare Raja Bashart in which Punjab IG Shoaib Dastagir, Additional Chief Secretary Home Momin Agha, Lahore Commissioner Saif Anjum, Additional IG Special Branch, Additional IG CTD, DIG Operations and other officers were also present.
The meeting reviewed the overall situation of law and order across the province. Heads of law-enforcement briefed about security arrangements while commissioners and RPOs briefed through video links. The minister directed the urgent measures to conduct security audits of Sikh shrines throughout the province and improve security situation. He said that the security of important public places, especially the synagogues and sanctuaries should be tightened and timely combing operations should be completed in sensitive places.
Raja Basharat instructed the police to keep CCTV cameras and other monitoring devices in working condition and to keep a close watch on the suspects by tightening the night patrol.
