LAHORE—The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) sealed 110 illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulter premises in different housing schemes of Lahore.
During operations on Monday, LDA Town Planning Wing sealed 38 businesses in Gulberg and New Garden Town, 21 in Allama Iqbal Town, 21 in Johar Town, Nespak Society and Wapda Town, and 30 in New Muslim Town and in the surroundings of the Canal Bank Road.
The sealed premises include Bank Al-Habib, The Bank of Punjab, Clinix Pharmacy, The Educators, Unique Science Academy, The Trust School, The Spirit School, Stars Academy, American Lycetuff, Harbanspura Campus of Virtual University, hospitals, beauty saloons, pharmacies, bakeries, food outlets, grocery stores, private offices and other businesses.
LDA Chief Town Planner I Assad-uz-Zaman and Chief Town Planner II Azhar Ali supervised the operations, which were carried out by the enforcement teams with the help of the Police.
As per the LDA officials, several notices were served to the owners of these buildings before carrying out the operations.
LDA Director General Tahir Farooq has directed continuing indiscriminate operations against violation of bylaws, land grabbers, encroachments, illegal commercial buildings and commercialization fee defaulters in Lahore.
