Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) Atif Ikram Sheikh has advocated and voiced the necessity of prioritizing economic reforms for the democratic government. Sheikh, speaking to ‘Pakistan Observer’ after casting the vote in Islamabad’s NA-46 constituency, highlighted Pakistan’s necessity to adopt urgent strategies akin to wartime efforts to achieve a GDP target of 2.4 percent by 2025.
He particularly stressed the urgency of revisiting interest rates to balance trade and implementing revolutionary measures in the energy sector to drive industrial growth. Sheikh emphasized the importance of engaging with stakeholders globally to ensure sustainable economic development.
Additionally, he urged the incoming government to promptly address challenges faced by local industries amid intense global trade competition.
