Residents of Karachi can breathe a sigh of relief as the Karachi Water & Sewerage Board (KW&SC) announces the successful completion of emergency repair work on the Hub Canal, leading to the resumption of normal water supply to the city.

According to a spokesperson for KW&SC, under the direct instructions of CEO Engineer Syed Sallahuddin Ahmed, the repair of the Hub Canal was expedited to address the urgent situation.

As of last night, regular water flow from the Hub Canal has been restored, benefitting residents in District West and District Keamari. During the repair period, water was temporarily diverted from the alternative line of K-3 to ensure uninterrupted supply to affected areas in District West and District Keamari.

The repair work became necessary due to adverse weather conditions, including heavy rainfall and a power breakdown at the Hub Pumping Station, which resulted in a crack in the Hub Canal. Thanks to the swift response and efforts of KW&SC, normalcy has been restored to Karachi’s water distribution system.
