An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Friday acquitted 17 workers of Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in a case registered under charges of inciting violence, damaging public prop-erties and vandalism.
ATC Judge Ejaz Ahmad Buttar conducted the case proceedings and announced verdict on completion of trial. The court acquitted Muneeb Sattar, Umair, Abu Bakr, Usman and 13 others.
The defence counsel argued before the court that the police had registered a baseless case against his clients. He submitted that the police had failed to produce any solid evidence against them. He pleaded with the court to acquit his clients for being innocent.
However, the prosecution opposed the request and stated that the accused damaged public property and committed violence.
