Provincial Industries and Trade Minister Mian Aslam Iqbal has said that hoarders and illegal profiteers have increased difficulties in the lives of masses manifold.
He was presiding over a meeting at Civil Secretariat on Tuesday in which monitoring of the prices of essential edibles, supply and demand chain as well as performance of price control magistrates came under review.
These social culprits do not deserve any leniency and vigorous crackdown should be taken against them, he directed. Action against those elements found involved in creating artificial price-hike should be taken speedily and no negligence and inefficiency will be tolerated during performance of duties.
The whole government machinery is fully vibrant and vigilant in order to ensure provision of quality items at fixed government rates to the people. We will not let price-hike mafia to play with the interests of common man, he stressed. All possible measures are being taken to bring stability as well as lower the prices of essential edibles. The government is fully focused to ensure provision of relief to the deprived segment of society and people will also get significant relief out of billions of rupees package being granted by the federal government, he maintained.
The government has also chalked out an effective mechanism to ensure availability of essential edibles in the markets according to their demand and supply and demand chain will also be monitored in the markets. He further said that due to wrong economic priorities of previous governments, people are facing its brunt in the shape of price-hike.
Owing to wrong economic policies of previous corrupt rulers, the country had reached at the brink of destruction, he lamented. Due to right economic direction taken by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the country has been saved from becoming bankrupt. We will not relent till getting the masses out of artificial inflation crisis, he concluded.
