An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Monday sent three accused to jail on 14-day judicial remand in Askari Tower attack case.
Earlier, the police produced the accused, Muhammad Faisal Sultan, Muhammad Kamran and Muhammad Ibrahim before ATC Judge Abher Gul Khan with covered face. The investigation officer submitted that the accused were involved in the case and requested the court to send them to jail for identification parade.
However, the defence counsel opposed the request, saying that no evidence was available against his clients.
He pleaded with the court to discharge the accused from the case.
However, the court observed that if the accused were not identified during the identification process, then they would be discharged from the case. Subsequently, the court sent the accused to jail on 14-day judicial remand for identification parade.
The Gulberg police had registered a case against Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf leaders and workers over attacking Askari Tower during May-9 violence.
