Arts Council of Pakistan Karachi and Central Jail jointly organized an art and crafts exhibition based on works of prisoners at Ahmed Parvaiz Art Gallery. President Arts Council Ahmed Shah, Governor Kamran Khan Tessori, Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi, Speaker Sindh Assembly Agha Siraj Durrani, Caretaker Provincial Interior Minister Brig (Rtd.) Haris Nawaz, Superintendent of Jail Hassan Sehito, PP leader Nasir Hussain Shah, political and social personalities and senior officers of the police department participated.
Governor of Sindh Kamran Khan Tessori inaugurated the exhibition, on this occasion Governor Sindh Kamran Tessori expressed his views and said that Ahmed Shah always takes such steps which encourage artists, just like Hassan Sehito did.
Yes, we should hate the crime, not the perpetrator, when a person is punished, he must realize what he did good and what was bad, looking at these pictures, we realize that even a bad person can change. I appeal to rich people to come here and buy this art. Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi expressed his views and said that Ahmad Shah himself speaks less and his work speaks louder than what I have seen today.
We have to improve it together. Jail is a place where people are reformed. If a person acts against the society, they are separated from the society for some time. This is the principle of punishment. Agha Siraj Durrani speaking said that all the artists have done great work, learning art and crafts will be very useful for the prisoners, these things are very important, we should invite the art lovers in the jail, I congratulate IG Jails and President Arts Council Ahmed Shah for organizing such a wonderful exhibition. Caretaker Provincial Interior Minister Brigadier (Rtd.) Haris Nawaz said that when I visited the jail and the prisoners there I did not believe that this work was done by our prisoners, I told Hassan Sehito that his work must be appreciated, keeping this thought in mind, this exhibition was organized.
